Who is the Grocery and Liquor Association?
The Grocery and Liquor Association was formed some 50 years ago as a Community fundraising arm of Master Grocers Australia.
The GALA committee consists of a number of grocery and liquor industry representatives who willingly volunteer their time to support a worthy community organisation, namely the Reach Foundation.
The purpose of GALA is to represent both the Grocery and Liquor Industries in supporting charity while fostering goodwill, friendships and networking opportunities for all companies (wholesalers, retailers and suppliers) willing to be involved.
GALA conducts two Major Annual Industry Charity events - the industry Golf Day at Keysborough (March) and the industry Dinner Dance in August each year.
As a result of these events, GALA has been able to raise considerable funds for the Reach Foundation.
In recent times, additional committee members have been recruited from the trade ensuring the trade is always presented with the freshest and liveliest approach to fostering a community spirit within our industry.
