Pay rates and payroll software

The ability to calculate, integrate and update minimum award rates of pay, allowances, overtime and penalty rates into accounting and payroll systems is to become easier.

From 20 March 2023, the Fair Work Commission will allow registered users to utilise a new digital tool to enable integration of some accounting and payroll software. This tool uses data housed in the Commission’s Modern Awards Pay Database (MAPD), containing modern award minimum rates from July 2015.

This closer integration between business software and the official published minimum award rates seeks to assist compliance with modern awards, especially when minimum rates are updated.
