Marie is an experienced Legal and IR Services practitioner who has worked in both private legal practice and other employer associations prior to joining MGA in 2006. Marie is a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of SA, NSW and Victoria.
In the MGA Legal and IR Services team, Marie has responsibility for overseeing the provision of advice to members on a range of issues, including award interpretation, dispute resolution, anti-discrimination law, WHS and termination of employment issues. Marie has extensive experience in assisting employers with drafting policies, agreements and contracts of employment. Marie has also regularly represented employers in litigation matters such as unfair dismissals, unlawful terminations and discrimination matters.
Marie regularly presents both seminars and training sessions to employees and employers on managing employees, the Fair Work Act, award modernisation and health and safety laws.
David Mostokly – Legal and IR Services Lawyer
David joined the MGA Legal and IR Services team in May 2018. David is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Prior to joining MGA, David worked in a general practice law firm in Melbourne for approximately five years as a senior paralegal and recently as an admitted lawyer. He practised a variety of areas including migration law and civil litigation.
David has volunteered for a couple of legal organisations such as the Victorian Family Law Pathways and St Kilda Legal Services.
As part of the Legal and IR team at MGA, David assists MGA members with advice on a broad range of employment law and IR matters including award interpretation, anti-discrimination, wage enquiries, dismissals, and management of employees’ performance and conduct issues.
Outside work, David is an avid soccer player and club secretary of his local soccer club in Cranbourne. Additionally, he enjoys international travel and camping in numerous areas of Victoria.
Catherine Flannery-Sweet - Legal and IR Services Lawyer
Catherine joined the MGA Legal and IR Services team in November 2020. Catherine is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Catherine has had experience in a variety of areas of law including but not limited to property, employment & industrial relations, commercial, competition and consumer, equity & trusts, and residential tenancy.
Before MGA, Catherine worked in a private commercial firm. Catherine has been responsible for the carriage of litigation matters in the County Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia.
Angeline Lee – Legal and IR Services Lawyer
Angeline joined the MGA Legal and IR Services team in November 2020. Angeline is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Prior to joining MGA, Angeline served as an employment relations adviser at a major employment relations advisory and consultancy firm. This role involved advising and supporting small and medium-sized employers on employment law and health and safety matters across diverse industries, including the retail and timber industries.
Angeline has a strong passion for workplace relations and HR.
