GRA wage rates 2018/19

Members are advised that new wage rates are applicable for employees employed under the General Retail Industry Award as from the first full pay period after 1 July 2018.

This year, the Sunday penalty rate has been reduced to 80% for full time and part time staff and 85% for casual staff, with further decreases to be implemented in the following financial years.

Please be aware that the Fair Work Ombudsman is yet to release the wage rates calculations which may result in some rounding differences. If there is any inconsistency or any changes to the rates, we will re-issue the wage table and advise all members accordingly.

Members who have enterprise agreements are advised that they will need to ensure that their base wage rate and the classifications are not lower than the rates specified in the Award.

Note for WA members who are not companies and operate their businesses as sole traders, partnerships or some trusts, you will be covered by the WA State Award. We will publish the WA State Award rates very shortly.
